3 Unusual Antique Celluloid Dolls and 4 Heads (FC-GC)

Description

Offered here are 3 unusual antique celluloid dolls and 4 celluloid heads.
The first is an adorable 10” sailor with a celluloid flange head and stuffed cloth body.
He is wearing a navy blue wool sailor suit with white chain-stitch
trim, silver buttons with anchors, a silver anchor on his white dickey, and black wool shoes.
Some of the white stitching is gone and one of the silver buttons is missing.
He has no marks.
The second doll is an 8 1/2" all-celluloid German doll with movable arms.
He has “22

" marked on his back.
He has a line or perhaps a crack on his right ankle.
The third is by Minerva, is a flange head, is 13” tall, and has a jointed shoulders and hips and a cloth body.
He has a beautifully painted and colored expressive face and is wearing some ecru corduroy overalls that probably aren’t original.
He is marked on the back of his head: “helmet // Germany // NO 4 // 30.”
His body is soiled, he has an upper lip rub,
and his right fist has been melted( ?).
The first celluloid head is 4 ½” with painted features and hair.
There is a mark on the back:”AMERICAN // Indian head // (backwards 5.”
The head itself is in great condition, but there are some cracks and missing pieces on the shoulders.
The second flange head celluloid head is a Turtlemark that is poorly painted.
He is marked, but the mark is barely legible.
The second flange head celluloid head also is a Turtlemark
that is marked: “Germany // turtle in diamond // 20.”
The third flange head celluloid head also is a Turtlemark that is marked: “Germany // turtle in diamond // 19.”
